"Hungary sent its foreign minister to Moscow to procure new gas shipments, who confirmed after the talks that it would cause damage to the Hungarian economy if it quickly cut off Russian energy sources. Péter Szijjártó insisted that the communication channels with the Russians must be maintained," read the columns of the Financial Times . They added that the cordial bilateral relations that have existed for a long time are worrying the Western partners.
They then explain that the Hungarian government took a neutral position in the Ukrainian crisis, compared to the other Central European states.
And the minister went to the Russians just when the EU is expecting a deepening energy crisis," the article states. He then states: "The accusation against the Kremlin is that it is blackmailing the Union. The North Stream has restarted, but only with forty percent utilization. This is the same as at the beginning of June, and the prices have doubled since then".
After that, they make it clear that "in many capitals, the new Hungarian-Russian merger is unfavorably received, as Moscow has excluded many European countries from deliveries. They fear that the separate road will undermine unity. By the way, the Hungarian guest spoke in the company of his Russian colleague about the need for an immediate cease-fire for the sake of peace.
Because it would not be good to have a world order where we find ourselves on the periphery again in a conflict zone, or close to it".
2022plus: The concerns of the Financial Times are almost naturally devoid of simple facts. It is a fact that the sanctions policy of the European Union is driving Europe towards suicide. It is a fact that the gas shortage is "thanks" to the Union, which is now upset about the reduced amount of gas. It is a fact that Hungary does not attack Russia, but neither does it support it. Of course! Since when can a mouse fight an elephant? It is a fact that stopping the supply of Russian gas would not "cause difficulties" for Hungary, but would return it to the Middle Ages. It is also a fact that even the dog does not care what "many capitals" think of Hungarian behavior. The drowning person is not interested in how aesthetically pleasing his thrashing is, but in being able to hold on to something. And it is a fact that European unity is in danger, but not because of us. Because of the globalist EU lobby, who expect us to conform, but do everything in the world (even illegally) to ram us into the ground. How could there be unity when those who pretend to call for unity do not want it?
It wouldn't hurt if the Financial Times tried to find out before they start worrying about Hungary.
