After several years of preparation, the filming of the Hunyadi series, which is being made at a cost of more than HUF 10 billion, has begun. The 10-part series is based on the historical novels of Mór Bán and is produced by Robert Lantos.
Index reported . 250 actors are participating in the most expensive domestic television project of all time. The script of the series, which is under Hungarian management but realized with international partners, was developed over three years, with the help of Hungarian and Hollywood professionals. The episodes are directed by Austrian filmmaker Robert Dornhelm, Orsi Nagypál and Attila Szász.
The XV. certain scenes of this work, which mixes events from the 19th century with fictional elements, are filmed in original locations beyond today's national borders. The series may debut on TV2 in the spring of 2024.
Bán Mór's series of novels about János Hunyadi is being brought to the screen by producer Robert Lantos. The National Film Institute contributed HUF 3.6 billion to this project, and the Hungarian government contributed HUF 6.9 billion. Producer Robert Lantos said that a movie could be made from the last two parts.
