Brussels threw up the stone labeled sanctions policy, did not move anywhere, and is now falling back on it. And for the entire European economy. The phrase "we said it in advance" is frustrating both to say and to hear, but unfortunately that makes it true, said Csaba Dömötör in an interview with Origo.

The parliamentary state secretary of the Prime Minister's Cabinet Office also said that the fact that the Hungarian gas storage facilities are in their own hands is not at all self-evident, because during the left-wing governments they were also owned by a foreign company, the German E.ON. The Orbán government decided to buy them back in 2012. Csaba Dömötör also expressed his opinion on utility reduction, the state of the left, the future of Europe and EU resources.

The European energy crisis has not subsided recently, in fact. Germans should expect further price increases from autumn. What do you think will happen in Europe in the next few months?

Our lives are permeated by the feeling that things happen that no one would have thought of. Just to mention a few examples:

THE HOT WATER WAS CLOSED IN CENTRAL BUILDINGS IN HANNOVER, THE SWIMMING POOLS WERE CLOSED IN NUREMBERG, THE FOUNTAINS WERE TURNED OFF IN MUNICH.

German cities are preparing for gas shortages. The energy crisis caused by the war slammed the door on Europe with resounding force, and even the richest countries cannot escape the consequences. An important circumstance is that it was not the fact of the war itself, but the completely derailed sanctions policy that brought about the biggest wave of price increases. And we don't see the end yet.

We don't know if there will be enough gas in Europe. The Hungarian government had to make decisions in such a situation.

What are the consequences of the fact that, from autumn, the Russians will transport only 20 percent of the total capacity on the Nord Stream gas pipeline to Germany?

The pipeline provides one third of the continent's gas supply. The restriction adversely affects not only Germany, but also Italy and Austria. Even in the short term, the consequences are serious. The European stock market price of gas rose by 8 percent immediately after Gazprom's announcements. This also shows how big it is

IT WAS A GALACTIC MISTAKE TO Elevate GAS SUPPLIES TO THE CENTER OF THE SANCTIONS POLICY.

The starting point is that the EU is extremely dependent on Russian gas. It is the driving engine of the strongest economies. When this was ignored, reality was locked in a box.

Brussels threw up the stone labeled sanctions policy, did not move anywhere, and is now falling back on it. And for the entire European economy. It's frustrating to say and listen to the sentence "we told you before", but unfortunately that still makes it true.

According to the European Commission's proposal, gas consumption in individual member states would be limited, and Manfred Weber also spoke about a gas distribution proposal. What do you think about this?

The fact that the countries that drew attention to the erroneous sanctions policy from the beginning and otherwise did a lot to ensure care would be punished the most. Therefore, the Hungarian government did not support the commission's proposal regarding the restriction, just as we do not consider the proposal regarding the mandatory distribution to be fair either.
