Gyurcsány raised taxes, increased utilities, and withdrew subsidies even when there was no war or crisis, Máté Kocsis, the parliamentary faction leader of Fidesz, pointed out on his social media page.
"If it wasn't bad enough that there is a war and an energy crisis, even Gyurcsány is "getting ready". He wants to govern again. He feels that he is needed right now. However, we have already seen his show, we will not forget it," Máté Kocsis wrote in his post.
He recalled: Whenever Ferenc Gyurcsány could, he took one month's pension and one month's salary from public administration workers and teachers, and raised taxes as if there was no tomorrow. He took away the home building and family allowances and tax relief. Even when there was no energy crisis in Europe, he raised utility prices fifteen times.
"He ruined everything once, but he's getting ready now. It's better for everyone if he doesn't do it," said the faction leader.
