According to Hungary's Slovakian finance minister, it is running like a rocket. Igor Matovic referred to Slovakia as looking like a poor relative next to Hungary.
Matovic was prompted to write his post by the fact that the Chinese Contemporary Amperex Technology announced on Friday that it would launch a battery project in Hungary with an investment of 7.34 billion euros. He congratulated the Hungarian economy minister on the investment and also mentioned that the Hungarian investment is five times larger than the Volvo factory that is being built in Slovakia.
This is how it should be done, this mega investment is five times bigger than Volvo. Hungary is racing like a rocket, Slovakia looks like a poor relative next to it"
- wrote the former Slovak prime minister in response to the investment.
Matovic later deleted his post from his Facebook page. However, there is a screenshot of the post.
