The president of the board of trustees of the Republikon Foundation, a former SZDSZ politician, told Hírklikk that Jakab has a chance in one case: if he "can tear a serious slice out of the Jobbik base".
Hírklikk asked Gábor Horn about Jobbik's run of the mill, who can see the connections not only as an analyst, but also from his own experience, since he was forced to follow the decline and then the demise of his party, the SZDSZ.
The president of the board of trustees of the Republikon Foundation told the newspaper: "I don't see the time to form more and more parties; the will of the electorate is certainly the opposite:
if there are still opposition voters - and there are, since there were two million in the election in April - then they would rather have fewer parties than more than today".
According to Horn, in the case of Jobbik, it must also be taken into account that it is already a split party: the breakaways created Mi Hazánk.
Horn declared that it would be difficult to implement a third formation that appeals to the right-wing radical voting base. He believes that what is happening is mostly good for Our Country. The former politician sees no chance that Jakab will succeed in his plan - more precisely, there would be some hope for it in only one case, he claims, if he could tear a serious slice out of Jobbik's base, activists, party organizations, and network. Horn no longer sees Jakab's very serious rural base either.
The chairman of the board of trustees put it this way, referring to the SZDSZ:
"I was lucky enough to personally experience the fact that when a party cannot be at peace with itself, if elementary solidarity ceases within the party, then that means the end of the party", and among the regime-changing parties are the Hungarian Democratic Forum and the Independent Smallholder Party so he walked, "they too were walking towards death," he declared.
He reminded that Jobbik made a big turn with Vona; then Vona left the party;
Jakab executed another centering turn;
and now he is also leaving the party and Gyöngyösi is coming, but according to Horn, it is an absurd idea in itself that it is possible to lead a party here as an EU representative.
