The right-wing League led by Matteo Salvini started its election campaign in symbolic places in Italy, lighting up the port known as the arrival point for migrants in Lampedusa. "Without faith, there is no future. I believe in Italy, I believe in Italians," the politician wrote on social media. Salvini is also a strong ally of the Hungarian right-wing party led by Fidesz, especially in the area of curbing illegal migration.

The word "Credo" in yellow letters on a blue background could be read Friday night on the pier of the Lampedusa port, on the wall of the public safety-dangerous central station in Milan and the headquarters of the tax office and the pension institute in Rome, after the right-wing League led by Matteo Salvini launched its election campaign.

The right-wing party made it public on Thursday with its allies, the Italian Brothers (FdI) and Hajrá, Italia! (FI) jointly developed a draft of a fifteen-point government program. The League then published its own two-hundred-page program and chose its slogan for the September 25 elections. The term "credo" is both the first person of the verb to believe and also means faith.

In a few hours, it became the most searched word on Italian social networks.

"Without faith, there is no future. I believe in Italy, I believe in Italians," wrote Matteo Salvini in his social media posts.

According to the party's announcement, from Lampedusa, which is Europe's gateway for migration, the League is saying that it believes in controlling the borders and that "no Italian should be forgotten or left behind." The central railway station in Milan was chosen because the League wants to make the railway station, which is currently full of "squatters", a symbol of safety, modernity and speed, the politician said.

On Saturday, the party announced another program summary entitled Credo. In the document, Matteo Salvini listed that he opposes his faith to today's society, which, according to him, is "without roots, identity and quality, and no longer believes in anything". He emphasized that he believes in legal and controlled migration, in stopping human trafficking, and in stopping illegal stipulations.

"I believe in Italian cities dominated by church towers, in love for one's own country, in public safety, in the protection of the family, which replaces empty cradles, I believe that September 25 will be a day of freedom and participation," wrote Salvini.

At the same time, the League presented its election posters dominated by Salvini's image, which proclaim that the Italians are first, the League will reduce the VAT on basic foodstuffs to zero, ensure energy independence for the country, and reform the pension system.

In the surveys, the League is listed at around fourteen percent behind the Italian Brothers, whose president is Giorgia Meloni, who are measured to be almost ten percentage points stronger. In the event of a victory for the center-right alliance, which is now estimated at forty-six percent, the party with the most votes can become the prime minister.

The League is building the election campaign to increase its support in order to obtain stronger ministerial positions in the event of a possible joint government. The parties of the center-right alliance also preceded the left-wing coalition in the campaign, which was formed on August 7, then dissolved on the same day, and did not even make its program public.
