Employees of an American organization held a workshop at the Budapest City Hall. But what is an organization funded by Belgian, Australian, American and Soros money doing in Budapest, whose main rallying ground is South America and Ukraine?
In a short post, Kontra.hu recently drew attention to the fact that Gábor Kerpel-Fronius, Budapest's temporary deputy mayor, shared an interesting and revealing post on Facebook.
Recently, the City Hall hosted the NDI (National Democratic Institute) American NGO workshop.
"Now, in the last phase of the second community budget, our goal is for as many Budapest residents as possible to vote and thus participate in determining the city's future and development," writes the deputy mayor.
But what kind of organization is NDI that helps with the technical management of the community budget, which is otherwise very simple in its process? Konra.hu asked the question.
NDI's mission is, according to their own admission, to promote the effective functioning of democratic institutions in cooperation with developing countries. Nice idea! The organization's experts are in the most appropriate place in Budapest.
In terms of efficiency, the management in Budapest really needs thorough training, so the idea that Gergely Karácsony and his team ask for help from a foreign organization to carry out their work at a basic level seems completely supportable. Although they would have thought of involving the experts first, then perhaps they would have wanted to "green" the BKV's vehicle fleet with unused German vehicles.
But after at least three years, they admitted their incompetence! the paper added.
The Green-Bolsi team at the head of the capital messed something up again. NDI is not exactly the organization that the capital needs. NDI's references do not include waste management, traffic control, or green space development. In practice, they do not know anything that Budapest's leadership currently needs. NDI is much more comparable to a cover organization that appears in a country when people with bad intentions want to cause confusion.
NDI is mostly associated with the American Democratic Party and the Liberal International, so there are not really any unanswered questions regarding its worldview orientation. The president of the organization is a Clinton client to the core, who owed his diplomatic career to the former secretary of state.
