Zoltán Fenyősi, the Laudato Si' animator, became a litter hunter to collect the many litters and trash that the people of Budapest throw away in public spaces. We accompanied a columnist member of the article commando on one of his deployments.

"He often appears near Bottomless Lake, why does he come here?"

"Because I'm a streak hunter." This is a new type of occupation. I walk and collect articles, of which more and more are thrown away. Three years ago, at a Laudato Si' training, I started on this line in the name of ecological self-conversion. I have been collecting discarded articles for years, I believe that I can do something with this for the common good. Where I take it regularly, they probably throw away the articles a little less.

 – What is this Laudato Si' you mentioned?

– This is none other than the green encyclical of Pope Francis , which he published in January 2015. In my view, it is the second most important document after the Bible. This is a series of conscious environmental and creation protection recommendations, a work program if you like.

The essence of this is that, following the papal encyclical, the bishops plan it, and the parish priests implement it in the parishes. A Laudato Si' circle of three to five people should help in this, so that believers and non-believers preserve their place of residence and the integrity of our created world. We still have room to move forward in this.

– As a hunter, how do you see how much we pay attention to our environment?

- Our dogs are slowly cleaning their rooms, but some people are still not "street clean", i.e. they lack respect for our environment. Young people complain that we have ruined their future, but there a terrible amount of pollution on their part as well . Even here at Feneketlen tó, after a weekend party, there is a huge mess left, they can't even throw the butts in their place. Irresponsibility and carelessness can be felt on them. Instead of looking for responsibility, what we should do is to listen to each other, do good, trusting that good example is contagious.
