The Germans are actually paying so much because they bowed to American pressure, and the Americans are the ones who don't allow the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline to be put into operation, even though Chancellor Scholz did everything even last year as Minister of Finance, and the SDP also did everything to to allow pipeline 2, said Zoltán Kiszelly, director of the Center for Political Analysis of the Századvég Foundation, in an interview with Origo about the European energy situation.
According to the political scientist, if the Germans had acted wisely, they would not be in this situation now, and they would not have to pay people more, the price of gas would drop, and a lot of problems would be solved right away.
The German government, made up of the Social Democrats, Liberals and Greens, has come under fire from all sides after details of the new gas tax to be paid from October came to light. In order to support gas importers, the costs are passed on to consumers in Germany. Why do you think the German government is choosing this path?
In fact, this is a well-known solution in Germany, as it has already been used for renewable energy. In the current case, the loss and the surcharge are spread among the gas consumers. So, the more expensive the gas is now on the market, the surcharge is distributed among the gas consumers, and the amount of this is 2.5 cents, on which, according to the European Commission, VAT must also be paid.
AS A PROPERTY, THEY TRY TO MAKE PEOPLE PAY FOR THE LOSS, AND THAT'S WHY A GERMAN CONSUMER HAS TO PAY 300-400 EUROS MORE ON AVERAGE. THE GOVERNMENT IS ACTUALLY TRYING TO MINIMIZE THE LOSS OF THE GAS TRADERS AND SHIFT THE BURDEN TO THE POPULATION.
Der Spiegel recently published an article about how the Germans could annoy Vladimir Putin. They explain that 20 percent of gas is now coming through the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline, and that is why gas is so expensive in Europe, since the other existing pipeline is not used. They are begging the Russians to send more gas on line 1, they even begged the turbine out of Canada.
The Germans say that they could get away with Putin by putting the Nord Stream 2 pipeline into operation, and then so much gas would immediately arrive in Europe that gas prices would fall, and the Germans would not have to save money and would not have to covet gas from neighboring countries, moreover, after Putin's war coffers would also decrease, fewer resources would be available for the war.
THIS IS WHY THE GERMAN GOVERNMENT'S POLICY FAILED BECAUSE THE GAS IS NOT UNDER EMBARGO, AND THE SHORTAGE CAN BE THANKED TO ITS OWN AND THE UNION'S FAILED SANCTIONS.
The Germans are actually paying so much because they bowed to American pressure, and the Americans are the ones who don't allow the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline to be put into operation, even though Chancellor Scholz did everything even last year as Minister of Finance, and the SDP also did everything to to enable wire 2. If the Germans had acted wisely, they wouldn't be in this situation now, and they wouldn't have to pay people more, the price of gas would drop, and a lot of problems would be solved right away.
THE GERMANS ARE MORE AFRAID OF THE AMERICANS THAN OF THE RUSSIANS, THAT'S WHY THEY HAVE THESE BACKUP SOLUTIONS NOW.
