On July 21, Viktor Orbán announced that the government would launch a child protection referendum. The prime minister stated that Brussels attacked Hungary because of the child protection law, because they do not accept that we resist LGBTQ propaganda. The future of our children is at stake, so we cannot compromise on this issue , said the Prime Minister.

Brussels wants to intervene in the lives of Hungarian families in an unprecedented way, while the government is giving parents the right to decide how they want to raise their children. Gender ideology has now reached such proportions that it threatens the social order and the family model on which it is based. That is why it was necessary for children to receive special protection, that is, their right to physical, mental and moral care should be guaranteed. And this is only possible if the parents decide on education and information, and not the various radical left-wing organizations that spread LGBTQ propaganda in schools and kindergartens, often without the knowledge and consent of the parents.

These questions are included in the referendum:

Do you support the holding of classes on sexual orientation for minor children in public educational institutions without parental consent?
Do you support the promotion of gender reassignment treatments for your minor children?
Do you support gender reassignment treatments being available to minors?
Do you support showing minor children sexual media content that affects their development without restrictions?
Do you support showing gender reassignment media to minors?
