The fireworks in Budapest, postponed from last Saturday, will be held on August 27. In support of those traveling to the event, this weekend you can also travel to Budapest on MÁV-START, Volánbusz and GYSEV flights with a special return ticket called Fireworks 2022. The fixed-price ticket also means a significant travel discount for those living in remote parts of the country if they visit the capital on the weekend, MÁV announced.

Pursuant to the decision of the Ministry of Technology and Industry, MÁV-START and GYSEV will introduce discounted, fixed-price return tickets for the fireworks weekend. The price of the Fireworks 2022 return ticket is HUF 2,000 per person regardless of the distance traveled. The individual ticket can be extended to a maximum of 4 people for HUF 800 per person, i.e. HUF 2,000 for one person, HUF 2,800 for two, HUF 3,600 for three, and HUF 4,400 for four. In this way, families and groups of friends can travel by train and Volánbus much more simply and at a discounted price by redeeming a joint ticket.

THE DISCOUNTED TICKET IS VALID FROM 00:00 ON AUGUST 26 TO 23:59 ON AUGUST 28.

The ticket can be used on the 26th and 27th during the journey there - i.e. the journey from the countryside to Budapest - on the 27th and 28th. The ticket is valid for the 2nd carriage class on the railway, in the case of surcharges (e.g. IC seat tickets) and buses, the additional long-distance ticket must be redeemed on the affected routes.

THE FIREWORKS 2022 TICKETS - FOR ONE OR MORE PERSONS - CAN BE BUYED IN THE MÁV MOBILE APPLICATION, IN THE EASIEST OF REGIONAL AND CITY TICKETS,

as well as in MÁV-START ticket machines. The Fireworks 2022 ticket can also be purchased on the MÁV-START online ticket purchase platform, in the renewed Elvira, when planning individual trips, but here it can only be redeemed for one person. For this reason, the railway company primarily recommends the use of the MÁV application, so that you can avoid queuing.

The Fireworks 2022 ticket - its single or multi-person version - can be purchased at MÁV-START ticket offices and also at GYSEV. Volánbusz does not sell the ticket separately, but accepts it everywhere on its intercity flights.
