As it turned out from the news, everything is ready for tonight's fireworks, which will be a unique experience for the elderly and the young, grandparents and grandchildren alike.
On August 27, Saturday, from 9 p.m., we can admire the traditional fireworks display called the Game of Fire and Lights, which pays homage to the founding of the state and St. Stephen, the Hungarian Tourist Agency informed in a statement sent to the Magyar Hírlap, which also informed: in the frame story of the fireworks display, a small child his dream comes alive over the Danube. Meeting the "spirit" of the Holy Crown, the little boy flies through the great chapters of Hungarian history after the founding of the state, from the time of the conquerors to the 20th century.
The first block focuses on the events of history after the founding of the state, the second part commemorates the Hunyadi era and the Nándorfehérvár triumph, the third section presents the 1848 revolution and freedom struggle, and the fourth highlights the events of 1956. The last minutes of the production compare Hungarian history, our present and our future.
This year's fireworks and the accompanying show are more than 4 kilometers long, from Margit Bridge to Petőfi Bridge. The 40,000 pyrotechnic devices are colored by easily recognizable, spectacular motifs and shapes, and the program is completed by a drone show consisting of 600 drones, light painting and a light show. The bridges and certain iconic locations of Budapest will receive special lighting, and the spectacle will be further enhanced by the lighting elements that color the Danube water and the "living" holograms projected into the sky.
During the approximately 35-minute program, the visitors will be able to hear a dialogue sound game, which is made even more enjoyable by the motifs of the lighting artist Dániel Besnyő, a short film that provides a framework for the story, and the drone game that was already a great success the previous year. The musical accompaniment is provided by composer Norbert Elek with the cooperation of the Budapest Scoring Orchestra.
Before the fireworks, between 19:30 and 20:00, the Gripens of the Hungarian Armed Forces will fly in formation over the Danube, in the section between the Parliament and the Chain Bridge, so expect an increased sound effect in Budapest and some parts of Pest County.
