The State Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office responsible for church and ethnic relations participated in the consecration ceremony of the renovated parish in Pölöske, Zala County on Sunday.
Miklós Soltész spoke at the handover and consecration of the parish of the Immaculate Heart of Mary church after the renovation, that the people of Pölöske fought a lot for centuries to have their own church , which they finally managed to achieve in the 1950s and 1960s despite the "difficult times".
In the past ten years, 1,500 churches, parishes and community centers have been built or renovated all over the Carpathian basin , one of which was the complete renovation of the parish building in Pölöske. The state secretary added: he encourages everyone to "persist in Christianity and community building" in the next - not easy - period. If a community is built, "then we can endure anything," he added.
Bálint Nagy, the state secretary of the Ministry of Construction and Investment, the Fidesz member of parliament of the region, said: we are not living in easy times and the years ahead will not be easy either, but in difficult times the organizing role of local communities is even more valued.
We are not giving up on developments, we are preparing for the times when it will be less difficult. We also prepared and planned during the Covid period, so that when times turn for the better, we will be prepared and have appropriate plans, and we will be able to implement the new developments, he said.
