An unprecedented, but not unprecedented, scandal on the left: Péter Márki-Zay admitted that international globalist forces tried to interfere in the Hungarian elections, which is a risk to sovereignty, reads the social page of the Center for Fundamental Rights.
"Péter Márki-Zay admitted in a podcast a few days ago that his association received hundreds of millions of foreign donations even after the elections. This proved that international globalist forces tried to interfere in the Hungarian elections , thus violating the sovereignty of our country. In addition, Márki-Zay and his team received new funds despite the fact that he did not fulfill his previous promise and did not report to the public about the use of the donations and money collected in the country. What's more, he mentioned a residual amount and said that his association does not return it to those who gave it to him, but keeps it.
According to the failed Prime Minister candidate of the left, part of the still unsettled campaign accounts of the left-wing opposition were settled from the June transfers.
The case is worrisome in several ways. The Hungarian Party Financing Act specifically prohibits the financing of domestic political parties from foreign sources. This ban is not unique, most democratic states also protect their country from foreign forces buying parties and politicians for themselves. The goal of the Hungarian legislator with this ban is clear: they should not be allowed to interfere in Hungarian domestic politics from abroad, and this should not be done with the most primitive means, namely that foreign interest groups pay off domestic political actors so that they blow their tune. The Márki-Zays, therefore , in bad faith, bypassing Hungarian laws, paid for previous left-wing campaign expenses from the money they received for non-campaign purposes through the funds allocated to their association. This was admitted by the former candidate himself, with the correction of the donor. Action for Democracy admitted that it transferred funds collected in order to "support Hungarian civil society and independent media" the association's activities - with particular regard to its stance against the infringement of LGBTQ rights - was financed by donations of hundreds of millions.
But what is this organization Action for Democracy?
The organization was founded right before the Hungarian elections, and its stated goal was to influence the Hungarian elections. The 2022 vote was seen as a sort of main test. Its leader , Dávid Korányi emerged during the prime ministership of Ferenc Gyurcsány , who by Gordon Bajnai as chief adviser, and then in 2019 Gergely Karácsony invited him to the capital city hall, also in the capacity of chief adviser. In addition to all this, Korányi is currently a member of the management or advisory board of countless György Soros , an influential figure in the background institutions of the progressive political network, and currently lives in New York. Based on contemporary press reports, Korányi accompanied Bajnai to a UN General Assembly in New York, where the then prime minister met with the chairman and CEO of JP Morgan and Rockefeller, the chairman of Citigroup and personally with György Soros. According to the news at the time, Bajnai awarded the Charles Gati , who later also appeared in the leadership of Action for Democracy.
Why is it unprecedented, but not without precedent, that the Soros network wants to manipulate Hungarian domestic politics with money and resources?
Because Márki-Zay's case is not the first in line. In 2013, Gordon Bajnai's midwifery, the now-defunct YGYÜTT - Party of the Changers received a hundred million monetary donation from the Center for American Progress, which enjoys the generous support of György Soros This foundation is one of the strongest background organizations of the Democratic Party in the United States. Although the association acknowledged the support, it never publicly accounted for the foreign money close to the Democrats.
In the same way Gergely Karácsony's unsuccessful 2021 prime ministerial candidate campaign. led by a Bajnai confidant, Gábor Perjés He campaigned in Christmas 2019 with the same technique, hiding behind an association, but then the financing was hidden behind the association Mendki Budapestért, which was also led by Perjés.
But before we think that György Soros and his entourage only want to influence the left side of Hungarian domestic politics through associations, and that is the only way to provide them with support, there is a rebuttal to this: György Soros made an offer of 1 million euros to Budapest in the first year of the coronavirus epidemic, which the leadership of the Capital he spent every last cent on tests and masks at left-wing private healthcare companies that received state contracts during the administrations of Ferenc Gyurcsány and Gordon Bajnai However, it is also known about György Soros It is well known that the Helsinki Committee, the Society for Freedom Rights, Amnesty International, and the Patent Association are all György Soros' donations.
millions of dollars in bad faith, hidden in associations, of unclear origin but linked to György Soros based on most evidence? The National Assembly, which gains authority through elections, is the main depository of sovereignty. If they interfere in this process from abroad, if we sell our sovereignty - and the actors of the Hungarian left often do this - then our country may lose the possibility of independent action : since the left would always play the note of the one who pays for it.
The sovereignty of our country can never be for sale! This associational, bad faith form of financing can be evaluated as interference in democratic elections and represents a violation of the principle of people's representation, thereby violating the basic constitutional rights and thereby undermining the country's sovereignty. That sovereignty can never be for sale is extremely true in politics: only that politician and only that political actor can be sovereign in a decision-making situation free of influence, only he can put the interests of his country and people first, who is not vulnerable to the expectations of international financiers.
