Despite the unfavorable weather, rain and mud, hundreds of people listened to the sermon of the Franciscan monk Csaba Böjte at the traditional opening ceremony of the school year. There are difficulties and we must prepare for even more difficult times to come, but we must be able to overcome the difficulties, it was said .
At the border of Gyergyószárhegy, at Tatárdomb this year, the head of the Szent Ferenc Foundation in Déva spoke primarily to the children preparing to start school, but his words were equally valid for anyone in his place. At the event, Csaba Böjte urged the participants that now, when a new school year begins, we should look inside ourselves, what desires, plans are guided by goals and how we can bring them to success. At the same time, he added that there are always difficulties and problems, but we must consciously prepare ourselves for the fact that difficult years are coming.
We can overcome fears, lack of faith, laziness, indifference. And the more times you lead yourself to victory, the easier it is to succeed next time, he said. "The past 30 years have been a peaceful, calm time, compared to what our grandparents and great-grandparents lived through, but we don't know what tomorrow will bring," he added. We must be able to overcome difficulties, it is not easy for children to solve arithmetic problems at school, even for teachers or mayors to lead the community. We can do it, we are not made of glass - were the encouraging and affirming words of the monk.
After the mass, wreaths were placed at the nearby monument, which commemorates the heroism of the Székely people of Györgyo who invaded from the Moldavia in September 1658 and defeated an army that was ten times superior, next to the mass grave of the dead enemy. Later, the series of events continued with cultural and traditional programs, and in the afternoon, the 4th Tatárdomb Cup, which was moved to the Gyergyószentmiklós boxing center due to bad weather, took place.
