A decree of the Minister of the Interior was published in the Magyar Közlöny , which is the LXXIX of 1992 on the protection of fetal life. rewrites the previous one on the implementation of the law. Sándor Pintér amended the annex to the 20-year-old decree: he changed the application form required to terminate a pregnancy.
The essence of the amendment is that in the future the pregnant woman must also present a report issued by an obstetrician-gynecologist, which records that the health care provider presented the "factor indicating the functioning of the vital functions of the fetus" to the pregnant woman in a clearly identifiable manner.
The "factor indicating the functioning of fetal vital functions" is actually the heart sound, so the decree links the performance of an abortion to listening to the heart sound.
The decree of the Minister of the Interior enters into force on September 15.
