In the heating season starting in October, gas heating can be replaced with newly acquired container boilers at four hundred locations, public education and social institutions. The government supports the development of domestic production capacity with HUF 1 billion. By reducing the use of natural gas, the quick and effective measure also contributes to strengthening the security of the energy supply, the Ministry of Technology and Industry announced.
Based on the proposal of the Ministry of Technology and Industry (TIM), this task can be accomplished by putting container boilers into operation. Devices burning pellets and biomass can be installed without time-consuming licensing. Integration into the system can also be done quickly, in just a few days.
Based on the government's decision, TIM will procure and put into operation 400 container boilers in the first round, by the end of the heating season starting in October. Some of the equipment can be purchased from abroad, but the state also provides support for building domestic production capacity. The HUF 1 billion contribution can cover more than a third of the total value of the required investment.
The new container boilers are primarily available to nurseries, kindergartens and schools, and social housing homes. TIM and the Ministry of the Interior will establish a joint working group to identify the exact locations and determine the order of installation. The technology can only be used where heat and hot water can be introduced into the radiators and heat exchangers in the building. In addition to the suitability criterion, the condition and functionality of the existing heating system, as well as the reduction in gas consumption that can be achieved, are also taken into account during the selection. In the future, the program may continue at additional locations and be extended to a wider range of institutions.
