The Minister of Justice posted on Facebook about the European Commission's decision on Sunday. He wrote:
A difficult but constructive negotiation process between the Hungarian Government and the Commission concluded on Sunday. The negotiations were concluded successfully.
The Commission found that the proposed measures submitted by the Hungarian government remedy the concerns that caused the Commission to initiate the conditionality procedure.
Hungary has not yet lost EU funds, and based on the Commission's decision on Sunday, this danger is not even imminent. If the Hungarian government fulfills its commitments, the conditionality procedure will be concluded before the end of the year.
In the coming weeks and months, we will focus on the realization and implementation of the commitments, so today, in order to reach an agreement with the European Commission, I submitted a package of laws to the Parliament, which amends the legislation related to cooperation with OLAF and to public interest trust foundations performing public tasks .
The Commission's decision on Sunday opened the way for the rapid conclusion of negotiations regarding the reconstruction fund and cohesion resources. According to the schedule, these will be completed before the end of the year, so Hungary can enter 2023 without a loss of funds.
We continue the work! We work to ensure that the Hungarian people receive the resources they are entitled to!
