candidate of the DK, LMP, MSZP, Párbeszéd, Momentum and Velünk a Város Eyüştet, did not help her win either if Ferenc Gyurcsány personally campaigned alongside her in the county seat of Borsod this week.
An important circumstance is that both the Újpest and Miskolc by-elections were held in a district where the left was still able to win in 2019. In Újpest, the interval was held in district no. 12, which was the district of the LMP politician Máté Kanász-Nagy until now. The left party thus retained its left-wing district. In Miskolc, the left won in district number 3 in 2019, but now they have failed the district. Fidesz thus won one of two left-wing districts. As for the capital: since the April elections, Fidesz has won nine by-elections in Budapest, and the left three. Since June, twelve interim local government representative elections have been held in the capital alone, of which the government party candidates won nine mandates, and the candidates of the opposition parties - including this Sunday's victory in Újpest - only three mandates.
The independent candidate Anikó Rácz, supported by the governing parties, won a mandate in the mayoral election of the interim local government election in Derecske after 100 percent processing of the data.
