When we talk about the failed Brussels sanctions policy, we cannot go without saying the restrictions on oil and oil products

was highlighted by the State Secretary responsible for international communication and relations in the video made in connection with the national consultation. Zoltán Kovács explained: for a long time after the outbreak of the war, it was said that they did not want to introduce sanctions regarding energy. Then suddenly everything changed in June, and Brussels forced a decision to ban Russian crude oil and oil derivatives.

We have said from the beginning that any sanctions imposed on energy prices would be equivalent to dropping an atomic bomb on both the Hungarian and the European economy, emphasized Zoltán Kovács.

The state secretary also highlighted that in the case of Hungary, which has no sea ports and gas and oil can only arrive here by pipeline, it is obvious that such a transition would only be possible after many years and hundreds of billions of forints invested.

"That's why, after a long struggle and hard battles, the Prime Minister managed to obtain an exemption from the sanctions imposed on Russian crude oil," explained Zoltán Kovács, then added: "We can now see that these sanctions hurt Europe much more than Russia, as the latter's revenues are still they also grew, while inflation was unleashed in Europe.

A change of direction is needed in European politics! If enough of us stand up for this and express our opinion, we will be able to change these decisions, emphasized Zoltán Kovács.
