Finance Minister Mihály Varga announced on his social media page that the Hungarian government will receive HUF 300 billion in EU support to reduce fossil energy use.

Finance Minister Mihály Varga on his Facebook page that at the meeting of the finance ministers of the EU member states, those present decided that

Hungary can receive about HUF three hundred billion for reducing fossil energy consumption.

Under the post, the head of the ministry added: the resources of more than seven hundred million euros can strengthen Hungary's energy security in the coming years.

Mihály Varga did not provide information about when and in what form the support will arrive, nor did he say what exactly the government will spend the money on.
