Four laws and two government decrees appeared in Monday's Magyar Közlöny among the laws that the government undertook to access Hungary's EU funds. Back in September, the European Commission gave our country a two-month reprieve for the government to take the previously promised anti-corruption measures.
The legislative proposals regarding the twelve anti-corruption promises of the Orbán government began to be discussed in September and were voted on on October 4. The European Commission had previously put forward the prospect of deducting HUF 3,000 billion from Hungary due to abuses surrounding the use of EU funds.
In Monday's Magyar Közlöny, among others, the Act on Controlling the Use of European Union Budget Resources, which established the Integrity Authority, was published. This new anti-corruption institution will operate from November 19 to prevent and control fraud, conflicts of interest and corruption in projects supported by the European Union.
