The audience of theater fans from Gömör could see interesting character sketches and stories about what we Hungarians are like.

With the support of the Minority Cultural Fund, the Thália Theater in Kassia presented Milyenek a magyarok? in Csíz with great success. his piece entitled The performance was directed by József Czajlik and made from the collection of sketches from János Lackfi's two highly successful volumes, Milyenek a magyarok and Milyenek even a magyarok.

The Kassai Thália Theater usually tries to present all its theater performances from Nagykapos to Bratislava. What are the Hungarians like? the original version of the performance was made with a larger set, but with a simplified set they are already on smaller stages.

Every small town has a holiday when Thália plays there. The Csízi Foundation of Csemadok, chaired by László Homonnai, also warmly welcomed the company. The local organization of the Alliance party, led by Csaba Žitňár, also took part in the organization.

Eight actors played the characters of the Hungarian people in the play: Lilla Dégner, who is also the tutor of the performance, Katalin Szabadi Emőke, Lívia Varga, Kornélia Nagy, Illés Oszkár, Péter Nádasdi, Erik Ollé and Gyula Szpišák. They sharpened the undeniable features of the Hungarian character.

The Hungarian scenes with light, playful, grotesque humor are framed by strictly Hungarian melodies. János Lackfi painted an ironic, sarcastic, but still very loving picture of the Hungarians. After all, what are the Hungarians like?

"We have nothing to be ashamed of. I believe that we Hungarians are the same as everyone else. We have great people, we have talented people. We are proud Hungarians. We believe that the audience also loves us, and this is the most important thing for us," stated Oszkár Illés.

The audience stood and applauded, which was an honor for the company. It was not the first time that the Thália Theater in Kassia visited the small village of Gömör. As we found out, they also like to return to places where they have already played, and they trust that KKA's tender opportunities will make this possible in the future.

Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream is currently being rehearsed in Thalia, which will premiere at the beginning of November. After that, a fairy tale by István Csukás will be staged, which will be directed by Oszkár Illés. During the winter and spring, the play about the life of the operetta composer Pál Ábrahám will be presented, and the two-person musical Ájlavjú is also planned.

"We thought that people wanted a more cheerful season where they could forget their problems," Oszkár Illés added.

We hope to see Europe's northernmost Hungarian theater again in Csíz.
