The Prime Minister explained that three major expenses are outlined when it comes to Ukraine. - wrote the Prime Minister in his FB post.
The Prime Minister stated that the three major expenses that the West supporting the war must bear: in addition to the war, the cost of reconstruction, for which "inconceivably large numbers" are spoken, and the money needed for the functioning of Ukraine. Even before the war, the neighboring country could not generate as much money "as the life of the Ukrainian people costs" (Pensions, public safety, education, healthcare, etc.).
It is a huge amount, the Ukrainian state would need about 5 billion euros per month to not collapse, and the question is who will give this money, he emphasized.
He indicated: discussions are taking place on how to share the burdens between Europe and America, and if Europe undertakes something, then how the burden should be shared among the member states, and whether everyone wants to participate in such financial assistance or not.
He emphasized:
Hungary will also have to decide whether it wants to participate in this.
"Do we have money to give to the Ukrainians, and if so, in what form do we want to give it: together with the others, separately, as a donation, as a loan," he listed. He believed that during the European Union negotiations of the next two or three months, they will see clearly on this issue and that Hungary is facing difficult decisions.
