"Hungary is first in the EU tax reduction ranking!" Mihály Varga wrote on his social media page.
The Minister of Finance indicated:
While the tax burden was increased in most member countries, Hungary reduced it to the greatest extent last year.
According to a report by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, the tax burden in proportion to GDP in Hungary improved to 34 percent in 2021, while the EU average is close to 42 percent.
"The government continued its tax cuts this year as well, reducing employer taxes by HUF 600 billion, thus Hungary can maintain its first place among EU countries in 2022"
Mihály Varga added.
