Both Interpol and Europol are afraid that the weapons donated to Ukraine may even end up with jihadist organizations, emphasized Georg Spöttle with Magyar Hírlap . The security policy expert believes that no one can control exactly what Kiev does with foreign aid.
– Winter is approaching, what will happen to Europe, what can we prepare for in the shadow of war?
- Fortunately, there will be no gas supply problems in Hungary, because the Hungarian government has concluded very good contracts, and the gas reservoirs are also full. The situation is not so good in Germany. Despite the German government's warning, many people now turn on the heating in the evenings. One or two mayors have already threatened the residents to publish the names of those who consume the most in the city newspaper. The Ministry of the Interior called on the residents to get food for a few days, to have a strong flashlight and spare batteries at home, because it is possible that there will be power outages. And if this actually happens, it will have an impact on penal institutions as well. According to the law, if a penitentiary is not supplied with water and electricity for four days, the persons serving their sentence there must be released at the end of the fourth day. One of the strongest economies in the EU is facing multiple problems. The waterworks are already sounding the alarm that if there is a power cut, the pumps will not work at the waterworks' pumping stations, so they won't be able to pump drinking water to higher-lying settlements or even high-rise buildings, for example. Longer power outages can be expected in several EU countries, which may mean that gas stations will not work either. In many Member States, residents are already being advised to keep a few cans of petrol at home.
– Why does Ukraine see Hungary as an enemy?
- Ukraine has always hated us. This was demonstrated when, for example, they set fire to the headquarters of the Transcarpathian Hungarian Cultural Association. In several cases, someone was beaten for speaking Hungarian in Transcarpathia. They hate us, even though they live in ancient Hungarian territory, right? They hate not only the Hungarians, but the Russian minority, the Poles, everyone, so we can talk about a terrible nationalist people. Kiev is also not grateful for Hungary's assistance to Ukrainians fleeing the war. Now they see our country as the main enemy because Hungary is actually the only European Union country and NATO member that does not allow lethal weapons to pass through its territory, does not help in training, and does not send weapons to this conflict.
– With the exception of Hungary, many EU countries and the United States also send weapons to Ukraine. There are more and more reports of some of these weapons being sold on the black market. Could this be true?
– I looked it up myself, and you can find a lot of weapons on the dark net. These are mostly handguns, pistols, AK47 assault rifles, hand grenades. For example, there were 10 hand grenades for $1,500, and it was written that they were from Ukrainian stocks. The Finns have already announced that weapons originating from the Ukrainian war have appeared in the hands of criminal organizations in the Scandinavian countries, which clearly came to Ukraine as Western aid. Now the Pentagon has also admitted that they cannot meaningfully check the weapons, where they end up and what their fate will be. According to American newspaper reports, armored personnel carriers and rocket launchers cannot be resold on the black market, only "smaller" combat equipment. According to Russian sources, only 30 percent of the small arms reach the combat units in Ukraine, and 70 percent are sold black. Europol has already noticed that such secret weapon depots are being created near the Polish-Ukrainian border, so firearms are being hidden, and these are broken down into smaller quantities and smuggled across the border either hidden in motorcycles or cars. Recently, an arms smuggler was caught on the German-Polish border. AK47s and ammunition were found in the French man's van. The culprit said that he wanted to take the weapons to France and sell them there. Both Interpol and Europol are afraid that these weapons could end up in the hands of jihadist organizations and that they could even use these weapons to commit another attack in Europe.
– Is Ukraine really getting weapons that were not even used by the US military?
- Naturally. In fact, the Ukrainians asked to send experimental weapons, because they are happy to test them. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba once joked that they would be able to write on the packaging that they had already killed Russians with it. So this is really a huge test plant to test new types of projectiles here, their range, their effect, because in Afghanistan it was an asymmetric war, so the Americans didn't have the opportunity to do that there. In fact, a test plant is now underway in Ukraine.
– To what extent do the American midterm elections affect the outcome of the war?
"The Republicans have announced that they are going to end what the Biden administration is doing." The democratic leadership sends multi-billion dollar humanitarian and arms packages to Kiev almost every week. This is what the Republicans want to end. As the United States pours money into Ukraine, the superpower is facing more and more problems. Inflation is around 8.3 percent. Since Biden's reign, food prices have also risen roughly by 9.1 percent, which affects many Americans sensitively. The Americans rightly say that I can't even show on the map exactly where Ukraine is, so what do I have to do with this war, and therefore I have to live in worse living conditions. Republicans have therefore made it clear that they will spend on things that are important to their people. Many people attack Joe Biden because of his family and economic interests in Ukraine and because he prioritizes his own financial well-being over the United States.
– What could be the interest of the Biden family?
– The Americans are the best in shale gas extraction, they have developed the necessary technology. There are significant shale gas deposits in the eastern part of Ukraine. The goal of American consortia was to exploit the shale gas fields around the Donbass region and obtain drilling rights there. The US president's son, Hunter Biden, is also a member of these consortia. After the Donbass, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions are annexed to Russia, the American plan seems to fail. By the way, it is in the interest of the Biden administration to keep the war going as long as possible. Arms factories, which manufacture weapons and ammunition, make huge sums of money. The US government orders it, the arms manufacturer invoices it, delivers it, gets the right amount, and the government sends these weapons to Ukraine. Certain circles understandably feel very well that there is a war - they are making billions of dollars. Those who are negatively affected are American taxpayers.
