It was only a matter of time before some Russian-identifiable missile or plane strayed from Ukraine and crashed into NATO territory. We have already forgotten the ancient Soviet-made drone wandering above us, which we have not known whose toy it was since spring. Apparently, everyone has enough sense to not immediately respond to a stray missile, but we still don't know what to expect in the near future from the notoriously sharp-minded Western political leaders.

Of course, the missile accident in Poland (irony) takes the show away from the important questions raised by yesterday's Russian attack. According to British scientists, the Russians have again completely used up their precision weapons, but they have caused serious damage to the vital infrastructure of Ukraine. We have no idea how much of it is true, maybe only that, but it is certain that the Ukrainian civilian population will suffer terribly this winter.

There is a saying that the Russians are weaker than we think they are, but stronger than we hope they are, well, maybe that will be revealed now. No one thought at the beginning of the war that the Russians were completely wrong about their own capabilities and that they didn't have much of a plan for what would happen if something didn't work out. Otherwise, in our current world of disinformation, we might not even notice or be told that someone had already won or lost this war. Of course, if the goal is to maintain war hysteria. We rightly feel that the Russians are not really rational actors in this conflict, and we rightly fear that the leading politicians in the West do not seem much better either. Apart from the emotional reactions after the Russian attack, this missile strike is the best test of our sanity.

After all, the First and Second World Wars reduced Europe to colonial and semi-colonial status, and the continent that once existed as the center and master of the world is now only a peninsula. It is quite clear that we cannot stand a third major war that takes place within Europe and threatens to cause as much destruction as the First World War. Not only European prosperity, not only the economy, but also the societies of European countries would not withstand a real war. Neither demographically nor psychologically. In comparison, it is thought-provoking that a war has been going on here for the ninth month, which carries with it the danger of spreading into a European or even a world war.

The fact that a stray or shot down Russian missile hit Poland, which is rightfully but extremely anti-Russian, is of course an accident. Just as it is possible that the rocket did not fall in an uninhabited area, which is much more likely, but in a place where people were and thus became victims of the event. Compared to this, the first reactions are surprisingly restrained, everyone feels that we are very close to the red line, about which, of course, all the important actors are withholding the essential information about where it is drawn.

At first glance, it seems that NATO will regard the missile impact as an accidental event and the case will be handled on a diplomatic level, where of course they will not be stingy with harsh comments and last warnings. In other words, everything will continue as before, in the EU they are still hysterically demanding the adoption of the ninth sanctions package and the contents of the tenth will be made public. In a military sense, the Russians obviously wanted to demonstrate something to NATO and of course the Ukrainians with yesterday's attack in addition to the destruction. The message to Ukrainians is simple: you will freeze in the winter before you starve to death. "Mass attacks" carried out with modern Russian missiles mixed with older techniques are not only good for overloading the air defense, but also for making it clear that the Russians still have enough effective weapons that no one can dream of, for example, escalating the war in the direction of Russia.

We can only hope that last night's scare makes everyone think about how close we are to a world war. The NATO-Russia war will be a world war for us, because our whole world will be destroyed because of it, it will be a small consolation that the Chinese and Indians will not suffer much. Provided it doesn't turn into a nuclear war, of course. The most unpleasant possibility, which this morning already seems to be a substantial doubt, is that the rockets were not fired by the Russians, but by someone who took advantage of yesterday's mass rocket attack and tried to create a situation under the guise of a NATO country being affected. But at the moment it seems likely that a Ukrainian anti-aircraft device crashed and killed two very unlucky Polish people.

They even told the American president:

There is preliminary information that refutes this. But I don't want to say that until we've fully investigated the matter. The trajectory makes it unlikely that it was fired from Russia, but we'll see.

The Polish president, who is very unfriendly to the Russians, also stated that there is no clear evidence as to who fired the probably Russian-made missile.

It is impossible to overestimate the importance of the fact that in this case everyone is clearly in their right mind and does not make the situation worse. We'll make it in the end.
