Due to the Russian-Ukrainian armed conflict, the Parajd mine also supplies large quantities of salt to road maintenance companies in Hungary. The Transylvanian plant produces 1,200 tons of material for this purpose every day.
In September, large quantities of Parajd salt began to be delivered to Hungary as well, Zoltán Seprődi told the Agerpres news agency on Friday.
As can be read in Székelyhon, the director of the Transylvanian mining operation explained that their new partners - since we are not the only ones who procure this product from Transylvania - have been importing from Ukraine until now, but due to the war, this possibility ceased. Zoltán Seprődi emphasized that they are able to fulfill the increased orders, since twelve hundred tons of material are produced from the warehouses every day. There is plenty of salt in stock, but grinding is also taking place on a daily basis, he said. He added that the plant has a high-performance sorting equipment - the latter is worth one million euros and started working in 2019.
