There has been a significant change in the behavior of migrants and human traffickers, they are acting more and more violently, said the prime minister's chief adviser on internal security in the current program of the M1 channel on Saturday evening.
György Bakondi emphasized: this violent action reinforces the Hungarian government's position that those who try to enter the European Union by force, with the help of criminals, without documents, and for an unclear purpose, are not refugees and do not meet the criteria for being declared refugees. Violent action has become typical on the Hungarian border, in the other countries of the Balkan route, but it is also experienced on the Spanish border, he explained.
He explained:
Since 2015, there has been no change in the EU's migration policy, they do not support the measures that some nation states take at their borders. At the same time, recently EU officials have been talking about the need to act against human trafficking and human smuggling.
He recalled that the central theme of the recently held Hungarian-Austrian-Serbian summits was the common fight against illegal migration.
The prime minister's chief adviser on internal security emphasized that instead of reinstating control of EU internal border traffic, strengthening the external borders is the right solution.
Hungary has been guarding the southern border since 2015, the total cost of which reached 1.6 billion euros, one percent of which has been reimbursed by the EU so far, said György Bakondi.
