The ancestor of parlor sugar is fondant sugar from Savoy, it appeared in the 14th century, with aphorisms on the inside of its packaging. It reached our country in the 1830s through German confectioners. The brown sugar was initially dipped by hand, then by machine. Stühmer was a famous Hungarian confectioner's sugar factory, and they shipped far and wide.
