Unknown persons organized a coordinated action against the Ukrainian embassies. Ukrainian embassies received "bloody packages" containing animal eyes, Reuters wrote.
"Bloody packages" containing animal eyes have arrived at several Ukrainian embassies abroad, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said on Friday, after a series of letter bombs were sent to addresses in Spain, including the Ukrainian embassy in Madrid.
The packages soaked in a liquid with a characteristic color and smell were sent to the embassies of Hungary, the Netherlands, Poland, Croatia and Italy, the consulates in Naples and Krakow, and the consulate in Brno, said spokesman Oleg Nikolenko.
We are studying the meaning of the message,” Nikolenko wrote in a statement posted on Facebook, adding that Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba had ordered all embassies and consulates involved to be placed under heightened security measures.
Six letter bombs were sent this week to targets in Spain, including Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and the US embassy in Madrid, prompting Spain to step up security measures.
Nikolenko said that the entrance to the Vatican ambassador's apartment was vandalized. According to an embassy source in Rome, human excrement was left outside the door. Nikolenko also said that the Kazakh embassy had received a bomb threat, which was later unconfirmed.
The embassy in the United States received a letter containing an article critical of Ukraine, he said. The letter, like most other letters, came from a European country, he said, without giving details.
