The filming of the Hungarian historical-political thriller Tündérkert has ended. The eight-part series deals with the first novel of Zsigmond Móricz's three-volume Transylvanian trilogy, Tündérkert, in collaboration with MTVA and Megafilm. The series is expected to be shown on the Danube from next September, M1 News reported.
Spectacular sets, period costumes and imaginative shooting locations. For example, several scenes were filmed in a factory area, in the basement system of the tenth district. During the filming, of course, every shot evoked a 17th-century atmosphere. Since the summer, a crew of more than 100 people has been working with almost 80 actors on the costumed mini-series.
"We are talking about a basic staff of 150 people, when we have a statistical day, we have reached several hundred people. Regarding the locations, I think this is the best, because it was a traveling shoot, we went from location to location, we were in more than 30 locations," said Dorottya Helmeczy, producer.
Viewers will see the adaptation of Zsigmond Móricz's novel in a modern and spectacular eight-part mini-series. Tündérkert is a co-production between Megafilm and MTVA, with the support of the National Film Institute. The crew closed the last day of filming and the director's work with applause.
They worked on the script of the film series with special visuals for almost four years.
According to the creators, one of the main goals was to make Móricz's novel even more accessible to young people. The mini-series shows the era when Transylvania drifts between the Habsburg and Ottoman Empires.
The young prince of Transylvania, Gábor Báthory, is constantly faced with conflicts and political intrigues. In the role of Gábor Báthory, Dániel Péter Katona fights for Transylvania, while his paternal mentor, Gábor Bethlen, is played by Barna Bokor.
The episodes, each about 50 minutes long, will be shown on the Duna channel from next September.
