Moroccan fans provoked a state of civil war after their defeat by the French national team in the French city, a 14-year-old boy lost his life.

The attacked driver was trying to escape when the tragedy happened

The 14-year-old boy was part of a larger group of what appeared to be Moroccan fans rioting on Rue de la Mosson in the southern French city.

According to local reports, the tragedy occurred after the fans saw a white car with a French flag hanging from it, and then rushed at it. As they tried to tear the flag down, the driver panicked and swerved hastily into the other lane to make a quick getaway.

The attackers could not react to all this in time, so the 14-year-old teenager was crushed under the wheels and suffered serious injuries.

Authorities confirmed he was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries, the Daily Mail reported.
