Next year, Hungary will host one of the biggest sporting events in the world, the World Outdoor Athletics Championships.

The World Cup will take place in the new National Athletic Center between August 19 and 27. The Queen of Sports Summit is generally considered the third largest and most important sporting event after the Olympics and the FIFA World Cup. Athletes from more than 200 countries are expected to start in Budapest.

Another outstanding event in 2023 will be that the Puskás Arena will host the final of the second European club football series, the Europa League, on May 31.

There will be a Hungarian Grand Prix and a World Cup competition for duelists and swordsmen, and there will also be a competition in kayak-canoe, and in October the Karate World Championship will take place in Budapest, and the European Rally Championship will also return to Nyíregyháza after a year's absence. And in July, the last stage of the ranking competition series of the International Wrestling Federation will be held in the Hungarian capital.

Also in July, the István Gyulai Memorial Athletics Hungarian Grand Prix will be held again, and the Hungarian race in Formula 1 will take place at the end of this month.

The year 2023 is extremely important from an Olympic point of view, qualification competitions for the 2024 Paris Games will be organized in all sports, and most of the quotas will be filled next year.
