I read on the Telex, one of the outstanding workshops of the Hungarian dollar media, that before the April elections, the various left-wing research institutes really misjudged the opposition coalition, and although many structural and other mistakes led to their biggest failure so far, the common result of everything is still is that Hungary is an autocracy, where no one except the ruling parties can kick the ball. Okay, this is a completely new, never-before-seen approach. The opposition is not at all jumping around in this slowly deflating air castle, for almost 13 years now, and it is absolutely certain that their spectacular failures are not due to this for the most part.
Well, now the profession, the analysts, etc. have said all this. But the real problem lies in what social psychology calls cognitive dissonance. In other words, the opposition voters receive the briefing day by day in their own little echo chamber, their favorite politicians write on social media that there is a dictatorship here, their favorite authors say the same thing on their favorite media, only then reality hits. Because if such a dictatorship reigns here - in fact, a hybrid regime, and electoral repression, how about a tyrant in the person of Viktor Orbán who is not a tyrant, but he is, and here now I know that they are looking at the screen strangely, but I didn't invent the latter either, but a wonderful, left-wing analyst - then how is it possible that those popular politicians can describe what kind of dictatorship reigns on social media? And how can it happen in the oppression that certain well-liked authors write the same thing on the most favorite mediums? So this is a dictatorship, so far the dear voter believes, but then how can it be exactly one, i.e. exactly 1 click away, from sites that proclaim the truth and, according to them, take very serious risks?
And this is where this certain cognitive dissonance comes into play for left-wing voters. This is the best way to understand why their number has dwindled more than ever before and why the ruling government is winning successive by-elections, also in Budapest. Because the behavior of the favorite and most popular characters somewhat contradicts what they see around them in their everyday life and it certainly creates tension. After all, they claim that there is oppression, but then why can you always express your opinion about everything, everywhere? They say that the government is dictatorial, but at the same time it is constantly given very serious powers in completely free elections. So, where is the logic in all that the dollar left claims?
Despite the promise after the waist jacket that they will come up with something completely different from here on, fortunately they did not change their old convictions and at the end of 2022 the same mantra is still the same as, say, a decade ago. An unlucky voter just stands on the side of the road and quietly and brokenly asks the question: if this country is such a dangerous place for opposition politicians, then how is it that the same faces are the same in every election, they suffer defeat in the same way? Nobody hurts them, but that's okay, it's such a dictatorship. I'll tell you what the biggest solution to your problems would be for the dollar left: if they didn't constantly look at their own as stupid.
