The free travel option for refugees from Ukraine on public transport routes in the capital has been extended until March 31, the Budapest Transport Center told MTI.
They wrote: the free travel, which was introduced on March 4 at the initiative of the Metropolitan Municipality, can be used as before, by presenting a Ukrainian travel document suitable for personal identification.
According to the BKK, such a document can be a Ukrainian passport, a Ukrainian identity card, a Ukrainian residence permit, a Ukrainian student card for other foreign students studying in Ukraine, or any other document that contains a Ukrainian address for other foreign citizens.
They emphasized: documents entitling to free travel will continue to be accepted on BKK flights - with the exception of the 100E airport express, the cable car, nostalgia flights and boats - as well as on the HÉV and "blue" buses in the capital region within Budapest.
In the announcement, BKK also asked its passengers to provide assistance to refugees traveling on BKK flights, if necessary.
