There will be a new air defense system, modern combat vehicles will arrive, security of supply will be ensured by the Hungarian production of weapons, ammunition and explosives. What does defense innovation cover? What combat equipment and new technologies are introduced to the army? Brigadier General Imre Porkoláb, ministerial commissioner, spoke about the military reform in Mandiner World Order.
As part of the force development program launched in 2017, the most modern combat equipment is being procured, the defense industry is on the rise with the establishment of assembly and production plants, and in the coming years the national defense will focus on innovation so that a modern, digitized force will be created as a result of the developments.
The experiences of the war in Ukraine encouraged the Ministry of National Defense to fine-tune the program and incorporate the experiences, the researches and developments of the defense sector will be brought together by the Defense Innovation Research Institute (VIKI), which will start its activities at the beginning of next year, foreign experiences and the technological ideas of the civil sector will be channeled to develop new defense capabilities.
