Vasarnap.hu asked Miskolc municipal representative Péter Molnár about local public issues after the KDNP National Elections meeting. The fate of the cave bath in Miskolctapolca, which was previously closed by the left-wing coalition that led the city, the slowly deteriorating public transport, the lack of development by the municipality and the support taken from the elderly were also discussed.

Péter Molnár said that since 2019, since Miskolc has been led by the left, there has been no development generated by the municipality. Major developments are realized with government subsidies. Examples include the development of a so-called turbo roundabout in the city center, or the tourist development of Diósgyőr Castle. In addition to these, the ongoing projects were started in the previous cycle.

The KDNP municipal representative emphasized that the left-wing rainbow coalition simply does not work in the settlement. The city is not moving forward because the leftist coalition is busy with their internal disputes. Recently, for example, one of the representatives from Jobbik first became independent, and then a month later joined the faction of the Democratic Coalition. It is interesting that the far-right MP used to like to scold Ferenc Gyurcsány, but now he is in his party. According to the representative, this is a moral low point.

People feel it too. More and more people are realizing that they may not have made the right decision in 2019. Thanks to this, the Fidesz-KDNP candidate won both constituencies of Miskolc during the parliamentary elections this year, and we also won in the mid-term elections in September, emphasized Péter Molnár.

The local government representative of the KDNP also highlighted a sad case. Previously, the Salkaházi Sára Program was established, through which the elderly people of Miskolc received HUF 12,000 support. In 2019, the left campaigned to double the amount of the subsidy, but in the meantime this program has practically ceased to exist. This year, the pensioners of Miskolc did not even receive this support, so the Salkaházi plus turned into a minus.
