A double pension arrives in February, as the 13th month's increased allowance is also paid at that time. This time, they will be delivered by post three days earlier than usual, and there is no change for those who receive their pension by bank transfer, the money will appear in their bank account on February 10.
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced at the end of last year that the government decided on a 15 percent pension increase, which also applies to the 13th month pension.
The average pension will increase by HUF 27,000 per month this year thanks to the 15 percent increase. Taking into account the 13th monthly allowance, pensioners will receive an increase of more than HUF 350,000 per year.
Last year, together with pension supplements, the pension increased by 14 percent, and this year by another 15 percent, which also applies to the 13th month's benefit. Thus, from January, an average pensioner will receive HUF 27,000 more per month. Together with the 13th monthly pension, the increase exceeds HUF 350,000 per year. This affects approximately two and a half million pensioners and those receiving pension-like benefits.
