For the 16th time this year, Christian churches and civil organizations are organizing the Marriage Week event series in Hungary in order to draw attention to the importance of marriage and family for a week around St. Valentine's Day. With the message of the presidency of the Association of Christian Intellectuals, we also join the initiative, says the KÉSZ letter.

In recent years, the number of marriages in our country has risen to a height not seen in thirty years. Apart from the last year, which was burdened by war tensions, the number of births also increased spectacularly. All this is thanks to the government's family policy, which, with its measures to strengthen the traditional family model, creates serious financial security for couples who decide to marry and have children. Such initiatives are also the basis for the future of the nation. That is why we are grateful for all the efforts that serve to strengthen the Christian image of man and the basic principle of the created world in today's troubled times.

At the same time, it is important that financial benefits are not the only motivation for starting a family and having children. As Christians, we see marriage as a gift from God, in which there is an opportunity to express love directly, to experience difficult situations more easily, and to provide supportive help. We further know and affirm that

the Christian family model mostly ensures the raising of healthy generations, the children's understanding of the nature of human relationships and the experience of God's love.

It is well known that a good marriage is based on trust, communication, mutual love and respect. In addition, spouses clinging to love must constantly work on developing their relationship, find solutions to their difficulties, and support each other in all areas of their lives. In this, the greatest resource for them is the common experience of faith.

Marriage Week is a good opportunity to turn to each other with trust and strengthen our commitment to each other through the experiences we have in the community of love. In this way, we can create natural, solid foundations for the younger generation as well,

and with the example of a good and strong marriage and a loving and solid family, we can motivate as many young people as possible to tie their lives together without delay, with courage and joy and to say yes to the blessing of children.

Clinging to love - this is the motto of this year's Marriage Week, which takes place between February 12 and 19. We warmly recommend the central and local events of the program series, as well as the family-related video series of KÉSZ.
