Fidesz EP representative Balázs Hidvéghi called the latest resolution of the European Parliament, adopted last week, a pro-war manifesto. Hidvégi: Hundreds of thousands of people have already died in the war, and the destruction does not spare the civilian population either.

In his video statement sent to MTI on Tuesday, the ruling party politician evaluated the decision as "a real pro-war manifesto, which urges us to deliver fighter jets and long-range missile systems to Ukraine."

After tanks, fighter jets and missiles, all that remains is the deployment of soldiers, he said, and in his opinion, that would be equivalent to a world war. He also went on to say that he feels as if the Western world has plunged into a collective pro-war psychosis, just like in 1914 when the First World War broke out.

"We are balancing on the edge of the abyss, and most politicians in Brussels are marching forward blindly," he said, emphasizing that Hungary must stay out of this war under all circumstances.

"We must not allow irresponsible and incompetent politicians from Brussels to plunge us into disaster," added Balázs Hidvéghi.

He also said that hundreds of thousands of people have already died in the war, and the destruction does not spare the civilian population either. In such a situation, all efforts should be directed towards a ceasefire and a peace agreement. Instead, Brussels has imposed sanctions on us, the price of which is being paid by the European people, and the war has not only not ended, but has taken on ever more brutal and dangerous proportions.
