The HUNGARIAN NATIONAL MUSEUM and the NATIONAL HERITAGE INSTITUTE will organize a ceremony on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the death of László Fejérpataky for the handing over of the plot stone marking the graves belonging to the National Cemetery March 6, 2023 (Monday), 12.30 p.m.

László Kelecsényi Fejérpataky, Hungarian historian, university professor, academician, librarian and archivist. He was the director of the National Széchény Library, the general director of the Hungarian National Museum and a member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

He is a member of a noble family from the Highlands, who trace their family tree back to IV. It was traced back to Béla. He graduated as a historian at the University of Budapest. In 1878, he obtained a doctorate in humanities, and in 1879, a teacher's diploma in history and Latin.

He is one of the founders of auxiliary historical sciences in Hungary, who created Hungarian diplomacy as an independent discipline. He was the first to apply the principles of modern source criticism in the heraldic researches of notables and the history of the Hungarian Middle Ages.
