In a video uploaded to his social media page, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán says that HUF 4,000 billion were taken out of the pockets of Hungarian families by the Brussels sanctions. The prime minister stated: "however, we protect the interests of the Hungarian people!"
As we reported earlier, Viktor Orbán also spoke in his radio interview on Friday that in the case of the sanctions, some people were serious about what they said, so that Russia will be weakened by them. A European sanctions system will immediately cause serious problems for Hungary - we said this a year ago - explained the prime minister.
The best examples of this are crude oil and natural gas, he added. It is in our well-understood national interest that the sanctions regime does not extend to energy, said the prime minister. The sanctions regime alone raised energy prices by HUF 4,000 billion.

The speculators worked themselves to death, and we hope that there was no collusion between the speculators and the Brussels bureaucrats. The government made 20 decisions against Hungarian inflation, he added. He is confident that the increase in prices will decrease as early as March, and that inflation will be in single digits by December.
