The police suspect the organizer of one of the best-known Hungarian beauty pageants of sexual crimes. According to the investigators, R. Lajos forced several of the participants, including minors, into prostitution, and he made a sexual video about one of the 16-year-old contestants in the teen category. The court ordered the man's arrest, the M1 News reported.
This year's appeal of the organizer of one of the best-known domestic beauty pageants, who is suspected of sexual crimes, is still available on the Internet. R. Lajos organized such assessments for many years. And he ran prostitutes for many years. In each case, he recruited the girls from the participants of beauty contests. Several of the outsourced sex workers were minors. R. Lajos was legally sentenced to 2 years and 10 months in prison in January due to fencing.
While he was waiting for the summons from the prison, R. Lajos was suspected of new sexual crimes. The National Investigation Agency started investigating the man again.
It turned out that R. Lajos did not give up on the fence despite the criminal proceedings against him: starting in December 2018, he made videos of a then 16-year-old girl that could be classified as child pornography, and then persuaded her to engage in prostitution.
" Investigators of the anti-trafficking department suspected the 69-year-old Budapest man of classified cases of fencing, human trafficking, child pornography and sexual abuse, and then - after questioning - took him into criminal custody and initiated his arrest," said Mónika Kész-Varga, National Investigation Agency chief investigator.
The prosecutor's office did not wait for the man to go to prison, and filed a motion for his arrest.
" According to the well-founded suspicion, the man committed the crime he was charged with over a long period of time, according to an established system and in an effort to make a regular profit, so there is a risk of repeating the crime. According to the position of the prosecution, the danger of making the proof more difficult can also be established. The Metropolitan Prosecutor's Office therefore proposed the arrest of the man, " said Bettina Bagoly, spokesperson of the Metropolitan Prosecutor's Office.
According to M1 Híradó, R. Lajos denies committing the crimes charged against him.
He says that his company only brokered girls for hostess work, from which he received a commission. The court did not accept this defense and ordered the man's arrest on Friday.
