Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Jevhen Perebijnisz gave an interview to the Slovakian SME Svet , in which he also harshly criticized Hungary.

According to him, Kiev is very disappointed with Hungary's attitude, mostly because it "blocks sanctions against Russia" and "prevents the meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Committee".

Let's note that the EU is currently intensifying the 10th sanctions package, which Hungary - although it does not agree with - is voting for unity, as it has voted for all packages. The fact that Ukraine wants to join NATO is nothing new, except that the defense alliance has clearly declared - at least so far - that it cannot accept a country at war as one of its members. Not even if Ukraine wants to drag the West into World War III at all costs.

He also objected to the fact that sometimes "anti-Ukrainian speeches" are made in Budapest, while they regard the Hungarians see the disenfranchisement of the Transcarpathian minority - ed. He added that if they were to think logically about Hungary, they should support Ukraine, because throughout their history they had to deal with several trials due to the Soviet Union.

"The position that Hungary represents today, according to which the way to peace is for Ukraine to stop its resistance to Russia, is disappointing. We all know what would happen in that case - Ukraine would cease to exist. We all know that Putin's goal is to occupy all of Ukraine and destroy the Ukrainian nation," said the deputy foreign minister.

This means that Hungary supports the destruction of the Ukrainian nation. I don't think they should support this attitude. Hungary, which has certain relations with Russia, should call on Moscow to end its aggression and withdraw its troops from Ukraine. Then the war will be over

- summed up Perebijnisz's thoughts regarding the Hungarian position.

There can be a compromise with Moscow

The politician was also asked whether he could imagine any kind of compromise with Moscow. As he said:

Of course, there is a compromise, namely the withdrawal of the Russian army from the territory of Ukraine and compensation for the damage caused by Russia here. We all need to come together and bring criminals to justice and this is the compromise. Then we can discuss in what form Russia exists.

Based on the above, it is highly doubtful that the Ukrainian politician understands the concept and meaning of "compromise".

He added, however, that there is no compromise in Ukraine's territorial integrity. According to him, it is only a Russian narrative that the West is tired of supporting Ukraine. "It may be a little surprising, but the anti-Putin coalition exists and support for Ukraine is growing," he said.

The Baltic states as a driving force

The Ukrainian deputy foreign minister named the Baltic states as the driving force of the fight against Russian aggression. According to him, this is due to the fact that "they have more experience of Russia and know very well that when someone talks about Russian ballet and Russian culture, it does not mean that Russia is a civilized country in every way."

In his opinion, some Western countries still admire Russian culture, which has "carried over to politics."

As if a state that has Tchaikovsky cannot be an aggressor

he said. However, according to him, those who have experienced this in history know very well that it is possible. "Now the western part of Europe is also starting to realize this," he added.

Help came late

In the interview, Yevhen Perebijnysz also spoke about the fact that even before the start of the aggression, it was pointed out that Ukraine needs more weapons. As he said, this war has been going on for nine years, not one.

If, for example, Ukraine had received what it receives today last March, the situation would have been completely different. I am convinced that we would have liberated most of the occupied territories

- opined the deputy minister, who believes that the help from the western states arrived a little late. "We are trying to explain to our international partners that every day hesitation means the lives of our soldiers and civilians. The sooner Ukraine gets everything it needs to win, the sooner the victory will come and the fewer casualties there will be," said the Ukrainian politician.
