The director general of the Center for Fundamental Rights gave a speech on the closing day of the traditional meeting of American conservatives

The international cooperation of conservatives was also the topic of the CPAC conference in Washington on Saturday as a Hungarian participant with Miklós Szánthó, director general of the Center for Fundamental Rights.

During the podium discussion on international cooperation on the closing day of the traditional meeting of American conservatives, the founder of CPAC in Budapest said that the conservative renaissance in Hungary can show the way to conservatives worldwide.

He pointed out that in Hungary the constitution also includes the threefold unity of God, country, and family, and the basic law provides protection for children in this regard.

The head of the Center for Fundamental Rights compared the socio-political phenomena experienced in the West to the former communist period, such as the culture of cancellation (cancel culture), critical race theory, extreme political correctness, and the spread of LGBTQ ideology, the purpose of which - according to the Hungarian expert's formulation - silencing people, depriving them of their most basic freedoms and their national identity.

Miklós Szánthó emphasized that CPAC Hungary, which will be held in Budapest this May as well, contributes to the effective European unification of national forces.

At the podium discussion, Jay Aeba, the chairman of the CPAC Japan conference, drew attention to the fact that until recently, conservatives had primarily turned inward, their attention narrowed to their own nation, while the left, globalists and communists have long been very effective in building international cooperation and common in action. He explained that the assassination of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe last year was a serious blow to the Japanese conservative movement.

Andrew Cooper, the Australian founder of CPAC, reported that the first event was held in his country in 2019, which provoked serious opposition and demonstrations from the radical left. He said that while they took to the streets against their conference, the conservatives were "too polite" and did not demonstrate against the Marxist conference also held in Sidney.

CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference) was first held in 1974 by the American Conservative Union.

At this year's event, leading representatives of American conservative politics will speak, elected politicians, analysts, activists, journalists, but former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro also spoke. The closing speech will be given by former US President Donald Trump on Saturday night local time.
