Human traffickers are currently deciding who will become European Union citizens, which can be said to be completely unprecedented, the prime minister's chief adviser on internal security said on Saturday evening on the current channel M1.
György Bakondi put it this way: a criminal network decides how, in what schedule, and for how much money people can enter Europe, and since 2015, the European authorities have not acted properly against this.
He added that there are attempts, for example by the Italian government, but at sea, for example
"rescue from water" is referred to as an important human right - which it is - but rescue does not mean that someone is granted political asylum in Europe, there is no such law. Rescued people should always be taken back to the nearest beach.
On the Balkan route "which affects us more directly", illegal migrants experiment with other methods: here they throw away and destroy their documents so that their identity cannot be established, a possible previous criminal or terrorist past, or the fact that they have previously stayed illegally in Europe cannot be easily established - He told.
The chief adviser on internal security highlighted that since 2015, Hungary has been fighting a very difficult battle to protect its own borders and the borders of the European Union, for which in recent years "we have not received much help" from the Union.
"We received much more criticism and political attacks, and even after contradictory statements, European court fines are imminent because of Hungary's migration policy," he said.
According to György Bakondi, there would be no obstacle for Germany, France or Sweden - if they need labor - to make migration legal and, based on documents at their embassies, allow entry to their own country for employment purposes after sufficient screening.
We still do not agree with the uncontrolled opening of borders and the distribution of migrants according to quotas, and - in addition to our relationship with the war in Ukraine and the gender issue - this is why Hungary is regularly subjected to political attacks and pressure, he added.
György Bakondi also said that at the level of the nation-state, complicated, complex, well-coordinated work is carried out by the authorities in border control, but at the level of the European Union, "there is a lack of political will". And the statements that seem to indicate a change in the last few weeks, in his opinion, speak much more to the upcoming EU elections than to a systemic change in border control.
According to the chief advisor, what can bring about a change in the assessment of illegal migration is that sooner or later there may even be political changes in those countries where the large influx of illegal migrants exhibit behavior that seriously threatens public security.
