Speaking to our newspaper, political scientist Dániel Deák evaluated the experience of the national holiday. The analyst also addressed the circumstances of the adoption of the French pension law, because in his view, the case is a typical manifestation of the Brussels double standard.

"The festive events of March 15 clearly showed that the political balance of power in Hungary has frozen: the government is firmly maintaining its leading position, while the left-liberal side still cannot find itself, even in the festive speeches they are stuck in the quagmire of current politics, they still have not grown up to the task ” – evaluated the political experience of the holiday Dániel Deák, the XXI. Század Institute senior analyst. "However, this would not be fundamental, because the economic crisis caused by the war and sanctions has resulted in serious social tension throughout Europe. From France to the Czech Republic, there are street demonstrations and strikes of tens or hundreds of thousands, the support of the governing forces has fallen in many European countries, and the opposition forces can profit from the crisis.

The analyst sees that the situation is different in Hungary:

the left-liberal side is so weak that even Gergely Karácsony cannot call more than a few hundred people to the streets in Budapest, where he wants to win next year's election. This is really surprising in light of the fact that on October 23 last year they were able to bring together a demonstration of a few thousand people, but now even this power has been completely lost.

"What could be the reason for this, we can ask," continued Dániel Deák. "The answer is obvious: left-liberal parties once again go against social expectations on the most important political issues, their pro-war and sanctions stance is not popular even among opposition voters. However, they would have the opportunity to change their pro-war position:

the parliament will soon vote on the pro-peace resolution proposed by the governing parties, but according to preliminary statements, the left-liberal politicians will say no to this as well. They are financed by pro-war foreign political and economic interests, so they meet the expectations of the customers."

The political scientist also covered the events in France. Emmanuel Macron passed his pension reform without parliamentary approval, which is why a motion of no confidence will be discussed against his government today. At the same time, the case is not important for us because of the events in French domestic politics, but in the light of the double standards in Brussels. Imagine if such large-scale legislation were adopted in Hungary without the approval of the parliament, how much of a scandal it would be, how hard the EU would act against our country. The French president needed this because the parliament would not support his pension reform. This case is also a good example of how the declarations from Brussels fearing the rule of law in our country are completely frivolous, they are only politically motivated, reminded Dániel Deák.
