In Ukraine, plant protection agents are used that were banned from the territory of the European Union thirty years ago.

People's health must be protected from the harmful effects of grain dumping in Ukraine - emphasized the president of the Association of Hungarian Farmers' Associations and Farmers' Cooperatives (Magosz) on Sunday evening on the current channel M1. According to István Jakab, the Hungarian society needs to understand the problem caused by the Ukrainian grain stuck in the country, because in addition to significantly lowering prices, people's health is also at risk. He said that

In Ukraine, plant protection agents are used that were banned from the territory of the European Union thirty years ago.

The stocks in Hungary must be subject to the strictest control, so far the government offices have carried out more than eight hundred samplings, he added.

The president of Magosz emphasized that joint action must be taken at the European Commission, and the "greens" are also expected to join this.

"Let's fight together to put healthy food on the table of every Hungarian and help the Ukrainians!" - He told.

He added that the Hungarian business community, interest representatives and the chamber are also partners of the Hungarian government in the collaboration.

István Jakab recalled in the conversation:

the solidarity corridor initiated by the EU was also opened by Hungary so that grain trapped in Ukraine could reach Africa and the Middle East, however, the grain was trapped in countries neighboring Ukraine, in which it caused internal market disruption.

To the question why the European Commission did not award Hungary the extraordinary support - which was also requested by Hungary, Poland, Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Bulgaria due to the current situation, but only Poland, Romania and Bulgaria receive it - he answered : there is a commissioner who believes that there was no really serious market problem in Hungary, that prices did not fall to such an extent that compensation would be necessary.

István Jakab emphasized that the European Commission must always be "put under pressure", because it cannot remain this way.

"The situation was brought about by the European Commission", so it must pay the subsidies that can be used to deal with this situation

he declared.

The president of Magosz called it the most important thing to do, that the Ukrainian grain must be transported out of the country, because the barley harvest will begin in three months, and there is no free storage capacity, which could have an adverse effect on prices.

According to his view, what legally arrived in the country is one to one and a half million tons, but Ukrainian grain also arrived in Hungary through the Schengen zone. In the latter case

the grain had already been "domesticated" in other countries, so it already arrived in Hungary as an EU product.

According to István Jakab, strict control is important in all respects, so they will create the possibility of having a storage space cadastre that can be used to track where and how much goods have been stored.
